"The Task Group’s primary role is to help and support its members as they continue to maximise efficiencies and help  drive through service improvements across a number of key areas such as work, education, environment and health. This is primarily achieved through encouraging behavioural change by reducing the need to travel and promoting the use of more active, smarter modes of transport. Maximising best value and demonstrating high cost/benefit ratios for a number of key activities are just two benefits potentially enjoyed by MSIG members and the recent procurement and development of a travel plan monitoring toolkit is a perfect example of a positive partnership approach, encouraged within the Group, that will help deliver these benefits to all MSIG member authorities who are involved.

In addition providing support and guidance , co-ordinating exchange of information, knowledge and experiences and establishing common methodology are just a few other benefits to being a member."
